In this role you will provide onsite installation and customer support and providing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service and repair of complex equipment and systems.The Day-To-DayOversee any necessary diagnoses, troubleshooting service and repair of complex equipment and systemsInstall Viasat antenna ground stations both domestically and internationallyPrepare technical reports summarizing your work and recommend solutions to technical problemsTest antenna performance to specificationsActively maintain good customer relations and work as part of a diverse team both managing the work and participating in the day-to-day process of installationSupervise contractors during site installsWhat You'll Need2+ years of related experience and a Technical Associates Degree or equivalent work experienceExperience in mechanical assembly of large-scale systems involving mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipmentAbility to read and understand civil drawingsAbility to read and follow mechanical fabrication drawingsWorking knowledge and experience in general construction safety processes, procedures, and requirementsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Experience with cross-functional teams, including contractors, multiple engineering disciplines, assembly personnel, and quality representativesAbility to work under pressure and to communicate effectively and directly with customersExperience resolving problems from design engineering to production assemblyMechanical aptitude that supports the supervision of rigging and direct cranes up to 200-ton capacity, to lift antenna assemblies that weigh as much as 20 tonsDemonstrated experience working independently to quickly identify problems and devising either a temporary and/or long-term solution as requiredExcellent communication skills (written and oral) are essential.Must have experience with Microsoft Office and be proficient in supporting dynamic project schedulesAbility to pass skills testing for grip and static strength, dynamic lifting, and work/positional toleranceUS Citizenship requiredMust be able to obtain and maintain a security clearanceAbility to travel 75% or more on domestic and international installations of large Antenna Systems and support facilitiesAbility to travel domestic and internationally for extended periods of timeMust be able to come into the office in Duluth, GAWhat Will Help You On The JobMechanical and electrical background and ability to assemble complex antenna systems from complex dwgs and schematicsExperience installing large satellite ground stations up to 24M diameterExperience or knowledge of Photogrammetry technics for adjusting reflectorsAbility to work at heights, operate heavy equipment such as: manlifts, fork lifts and direct crane operators in lifting of heavy antenna system parts.Lead large groups of sub contractors in day to day operations.Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft office products.Salary Range$61,500.00 - $97,000.00 / annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range for this role is $76,500.00- $114,500.00/ annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience.
