Field Engineer Opportunity in Orlando, FL
MasTec Civil is hiring a Field Engineer in Orlando, FL! The role of a Field Engineer is to assist the Project Manager, Project Engineer, and Superintendents to engineer, plan, and schedule construction operations to ensure safe, efficient, profitable, and timely performance. The Field Engineer provides primary oversight on assigned field operations in a manner consistent with Company policies and procedures. The role requires thorough knowledge of project plans and specifications, preliminary and temporary work design, field layout and drawings, field operations planning, forecasting, cost and quantity tracking, operations scheduling, and interaction with field and office personnel.
Responsibilities include assisting Project Manager, Project Superintendent and Project Engineer as required, performing field engineering and design of temporary structures including formwork, false work, lift plans, trestles, sheet piling and shoring as required, coordinating survey crew activities, responsible for quantity tracking/reporting and assist in project costing & forecasting, preparing requisitions for equipment and material for approval by Project Engineer, coordinating inspections of material deliveries to ensure compliance with purchase order and shop drawings, resolving field problems and conflicts, liaising with subcontractors, suppliers & own workforce on field details, notifying the Project Engineer of potential costs impacts due to field problems or conflicts in the plans, assisting in the preparation of RFI's, assisting with the documentation of time & material work and other extra work activities, project documentation: keeping a daily diary of project progress; taking project photos on a regular basis, assisting project close out, and additional responsibilities as required per the project needs.
Qualifications include 4-year degrees in engineering / construction management or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience and a minimum of 4 years similar construction engineering and/or surveying experience. Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include excellent management and supervisory skills, excellent analytical and organizational skills, proficiency in database and project controls computer application systems, MS Excel, MS Word, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
