As a Field Engineer/Assistant Project Manager, you will join a team of infrastructure solutions experts working to solve our client's ever evolving project needs.
This position is based in Chicago, IL, but will be mainly focused on work out in the field at our client's different project sites.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily construction activities and ensure compliance with the project's specifications, timeline and budgetSupport project teams delivering critical infrastructure work for the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) through the Public Building Commission (PBC)Provides essential administrative, tracking and coordination support to ensure the success of transportation projects throughout the cityMaintaining detailed records of daily construction operationsAddressing and resolving issues that may arise during the construction processDaily interaction with the contractor to ensure project is done on time and at budgetRequired QualificationsAssociate's degree in engineering technology, construction management, urban planning or a related field (or equivalent experience)1–3 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, transportation or administrative coordinationFamiliarity with public infrastructure or municipal projects, CDOT centric project experience would be idealProficiency in Microsoft OfficeHave a team player mindset with the ability to communicate proficiently in written and verbal formsHave strong attention to detail, time management skills and great organizational skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related fieldFamiliarity with City of Chicago departments and permitting processesExperience working in a consultant or government agency environmentExperience using project management or document control systemsInterest in long-term career development in project management or transportation infrastructureBenefitsWe offer Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans401K, Paid Maternity Leave, Competitive PTOEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and moreArdmore Roderick is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
