Like every member of our team, we will rely on you to provide exceptional customer service to our customers.What you'll do:Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgmentTravel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional mannerAssist in the training of lower level technicians as neededMaintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basisAssist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & partsOther duties assigned as neededRequirements:High School diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with acceptable driving record5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and toolsAdvanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of toolsExtensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagramsMust own tools applicable to positionSuperior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skillsAbility to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.Field Service Tech IV – Utility Truck Road ServiceIf you'd like the chance to make your mark with the world's largest equipment rental provider, come build your future with United Rentals!United Rentals Commercial and Utility Trucks is seeking a skilled and dedicated Road Service Utility Truck Mechanic to join our fleet maintenance team.

If you are a seasoned heavy-duty mechanic with expertise in buckets, pulling and stringing, diesel, and hydraulic systems and have a commitment to safety and quality, we want to talk to you. You'll be responsible for ensuring our fleet of utility and service vehicles is maintained to the highest standards, playing a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly.What you'll do:Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and heavy equipment, such as dump trucks, bucket trucks, and specialty utility vehicles.Troubleshoot and repair complex issues within hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and braking systems.Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, and lubrication, to maximize fleet longevity and performance.Utilize diagnostic software and technical manuals to identify malfunctions and determine the best course of action.Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification as needed.Maintain accurate and timely service records, repair logs, and documentation.Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and company safety standards and procedures.Perform annual DOT and Dielectric testing on insulated equipment.Other duties as assignedRequirements:High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel or truck mechanic, with hands-on experience on buckets, and hydraulic systemsValid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with relevant endorsements is required or must be obtainedExperience with a wide range of utility equipment is a plus, including cranes, pulling and stringing equipment and dielectric testing equipmentStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as a teamCommitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environmentWill require some overnight travel to projects further awayCompany service vehicle, phone, laptop and any other needed tools for the job will be supplied by United RentalsThis position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals' policies and procedures.
