Field Demo Operations SpecialistBlueOps (FL) - West Palm Beach, FL 33411Position SummaryWe are seeking a driven, hands-on Field Demo Operations Specialist to support and execute our demonstration program for advanced autonomous Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs).This role is highly operational and field-focused, centered on preparing, deploying, and maintaining USV platforms for testing and live demonstrations with U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and other government stakeholders.The Specialist will work directly with the Field Demo Program Manager and engineering teams to ensure demo readiness, support field execution, and maintain operational reliability of all demo assets. This role offers direct exposure to real-world maritime operations, autonomous systems, and customer-facing demonstrations in a fast-paced environment.This is a full-time, in-person position based in West Palm Beach, Florida, with regular field work and travel as required.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesField Operations & Demo SupportSupport execution of USV demonstrations and test events, including setup, launch, live operations, and teardownAssist with vessel launch and recovery, and support on-water operations as neededWork alongside the Field Demo Program Manager to ensure demos run smoothly and professionallySystem Readiness & MaintenanceAssist with inspection, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of vessels and onboard systemsSupport preparation and configuration of USV platforms prior to demonstrations and testingHelp maintain operational readiness of boats, trailers, vehicles, and supporting equipmentLogistics & Asset ManagementSupport demo logistics including equipment staging, transport, and site setupMaintain organization of tools, spare parts, and field equipmentAssist with upkeep of vehicles, trailers, and operational gearOperational Awareness & SupportAssist in monitoring vessel systems during operations, including navigation, propulsion, and communicationsMaintain awareness of ongoing operations and escalate issues to senior team members as neededFollow operational procedures, checklists, and safety protocols during all activitiesTesting & FeedbackDocument demo and test activities, including issues, observations, and performance notesSupport execution of test procedures and data collection effortsProvide feedback to engineering teams to support system improvementsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering, maritime studies, robotics, business operations, or a related fieldStrong interest in autonomous systems, maritime operations, or defense technologyHands-on mechanical or technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn complex systemsComfortable working in field environments including docks, boats, and outdoor test sitesStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to take direction, learn quickly, and operate effectively in a team environmentClear communication skills and professional demeanorWillingness to travel and support field demonstrations as neededMust be based in or willing to relocate to West Palm Beach, Florida for an in-person roleAdditional Desired QualificationsU.S.
Coast Guard OUPV (6-Pack) Captain's License or higher, or strong intent and ability to obtain within 6–12 monthsPrior experience operating boats or working in maritime environmentsExperience with mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systemsExposure to robotics, unmanned systems, or field operationsFamiliarity with basic tools, troubleshooting, and hands-on technical workPhysical Requirements and Working ConditionsAbility to stand, walk, and operate in indoor and outdoor environments for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs as neededWork may involve docks, vessels, trailers, and active operational environmentsUse of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required depending on task and locationMay require climbing, kneeling, or working in confined or mechanically complex spacesExposure to varying weather, noise, and environmental conditions during field operationsOccasional evenings, weekends, or extended hours required to support demo schedulesRegular use of computers and standard office tools for coordination and reportingBackground CheckThis position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check.
