Field Technician

About the Position

We work with Xfinity and ATT and provide residential installation services for customers, including:

Internet
Television (no TV for fiber)
Phone services

This is a field technician position. Technicians travel to customers’ homes and complete assigned installation and service jobs.

Main Responsibilities

Technicians are responsible for:

Installing cable from the utility pole to the customer’s home, including ladder work
Running and installing cable inside the home
Connecting, activating, and configuring equipment
Troubleshooting basic service and connectivity issues
Providing basic customer education, including explaining how the equipment and services work
Communicating professionally with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors
Completing assigned jobs and required documentation

Work Schedule

5 6 days per week
Typical working hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Daily workload depends on technician experience, performance, and available assignments

Employment & Compensation

1099 independent contractor position
Compensation is based on a production-rate system, meaning technicians are paid based on the work they complete
Average job value: approximately $30 $150 per job, depending on the type and scope of work

Typical Production

New technicians:

Approximately 4 6 jobs per day during the initial learning and adaptation period

Experienced technicians:

Approximately 6 8+ jobs per day after becoming comfortable with the system and workflow

Actual production depends on technician experience, efficiency, job availability, job type, and market conditions.

Expected Income

Typical weekly earnings:

New technicians: approximately $1,200 $1,400 per week
After the adaptation period: approximately $1,400 $1,800+ per week

Because this is a production-based position, actual earnings may vary based on completed work, performance, available workload, and market conditions.

Candidate Requirements

Candidates must have:

Intermediate/conversational English
Technicians communicate directly with customers, dispatchers, and supervisors, primarily in English
Valid U.S. driver’s license
Valid Social Security Number (SSN)
Ability to successfully complete a required background check and drug screening
Ability and willingness to work with ladders and perform physical field work
Professional attitude and good customer-service skills

Payment Schedule

Payments are issued every Friday
The first payment is approximately three weeks after the technician starts working
After the initial payment cycle, payments continue weekly

Recruiters must clearly explain the initial three-week payment cycle to every candidate before onboarding.

Vehicle Requirements

Having your own work vehicle is preferred:

White minivan or pickup truck

If the technician does not have an appropriate vehicle, a rental vehicle may be available:

Vehicle rental: $150 per week

Vehicle availability should be confirmed before making a commitment to the candidate.

Travel Opportunities

Technicians may also have opportunities to travel to projects in other states.

Travel is optional
Traveling projects generally offer higher compensation
Specific rates, locations, schedules, and other conditions depend on the individual project
