Seeking an experienced Wholesale Government Underwriter with an active FHA Direct Endorsement (DE) designation, the full-time salaried position is responsible for underwriting FHA and VA loans, maintaining production standards, and ensuring compliance with agency guidelines in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Underwrite FHA and/or VA loans in accordance with agency guidelines and maintain production standards of 45+ initial underwrites per month Communicate loan decisions, conditions, and status updates clearly with Loan Officers and Processors using company technology platforms Provide guidance and informal leadership within the underwriting team while staying current on product guidelines and company credit policies Required qualifications Minimum 5 years of recent government underwriting experience Active FHA DE designation (CHUMS required) and preferably an active VA SAR/LAPP designation Proficient in manual underwriting of government loans and recent experience underwriting Conventional loans Strong understanding of agency guidelines and investor overlays Demonstrated leadership capability and collaborative mindset
