Federal Work Study - ROTC Office AssistantsECU Department of Military Science is currently seeking several Office Assistants.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Administrative SupportProvide front desk coverage, greet visitors, and assist cadets, staff, and prospective studentsAnswer phones, respond to emails, and route inquiries appropriatelyMaintain accurate records, files, and databases (digital and physical)Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and ROTC eventsSupport preparation of reports, correspondence, and program materialsUniform Issue & Supply SupportAssist in issuing, fitting, and collecting ROTC uniforms and equipmentMaintain organized inventory of uniforms, supplies, and accessoriesTrack accountability of issued items using established systemsInspect returned uniforms for cleanliness and serviceabilityAssist with inventory counts and restocking of suppliesEnsure proper storage and organization of uniform roomsCadet & Program SupportAssist cadets with uniform questions, fitting, and wear guidance (as trained)Support ROTC training events, orientations, and special functionsHelp set up and break down for events, briefings, and inspectionsMaintain confidentiality of cadet and program informationNote: This position supports both Army and Air Force ROTC programs and may require coordination between both departments.GPA Requirement - Minimum of 2.0Preferred (Majors, Experience, GPA, etc.) - Preferred QualificationsInterest in military service or ROTC programsExperience with inventory management or administrative workFamiliarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Ability to lift and move boxes (up to 25–40 lbs)Ability to stand for extended periods during uniform issue or eventsMust be eligible for Federal Work-StudyStrong organizational and time management skillsProfessional communication and customer service skillsAbility to follow instructions and work independentlyAttention to detail and accountabilityWork ScheduleFlexible schedule based on academic commitments and office needsMay require occasional early morning or late afternoon support for ROTC activitiesProfessional ExpectationsMaintain a professional appearance and demeanorDemonstrate reliability, punctuality, and integrityFollow ROTC policies and procedures at all times
