Federal Work Study - Office Assistant

ECU Department of English is currently seeking a FWS Office Assistant to provide administrative and customer support to the department. The student employee will greet visitors; answer telephone calls in a professional manner; keep the reception area and front office clean and organized; complete copy requests with accuracy; run errands to adjacent offices/buildings; accept packages from FedEx, UPS, USPS, etc.; distribute incoming mail to departmental office and faculty mailboxes; assist faculty, staff, and students with tasks, directions, and questions; interact with Copiserv for various tasks and work orders; shred accumulated paper as needed; perform an inventory of office supplies and other items related to the department; assist department staff with occasional projects/tasks; assist with printing and distributing promotional materials like course fliers and departmental event fliers; assist with occasional departmental events set up and clean up; and perform occasional physical tasks such as carrying boxes or pushing carts.

Minimum GPA requirement: 2.0

Preferred: Developing information design skills and ability to assist with the design of department promotional materials; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and basic office technology (telephones, printers, copiers, etc.); and basic computer skills, strong communication, and organizational skills.
