This specific job is open to all interested candidates, both people with and without disabilities.The Farm/Facilities I team member is responsible for a broad range of agricultural, operational, and facilities support tasks across Revolution Farms and Peckham grounds.
This role involves seasonal crop production, equipment operation, customer-facing farmstand activities, food safety and sanitation, and facilities maintenance. Farm/Facilities I team members are expected to build foundational knowledge across all competency areas; the position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow Revolution Farms and Peckham safety guidelinesPerform crop production tasks including planting, cultivation, inspection, maintenance, harvest, and post-harvest handling of tomatoes, strawberries, mushrooms, ornamentals, and other cropsBe able to identify visually and follow key crop quality specifications to ensure that finished product meets internal and customer specificationsWork in packing coolers, freezers, or refrigerated spaces while conducting food processing, packing, packaging, cleaning, and shipment preparationIdentify, operate, and maintain farm equipment in accordance with required certifications, safety protocols, and supervisor direction. Frequently used equipment includes, but is not limited to, tractors, fork trucks, scissor lifts, golf carts, trailers, blowers, pruners, and other powered and unpowered hand toolsSupport farmstand operations including performing outstanding customer service, stocking, labeling, opening and closing duties, and point-of-sale (Square) functionsAssist with irrigation, fertigation, and amendment application to support crop healthInspect produce and packaging for defects, contamination, and foreign materials during harvest and packing; report any issues promptlyMeet or exceed established production and efficiency standardsRotate workstations as required to support workflowCarry out snow removal operations during the winter season, including using powered and unpowered equipment, shoveling, and saltingMaintain safe and organized work areas across Revolution Farms and Peckham buildings and grounds using appropriate tools and procedures, in compliance with company standardsComplete all required Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), including beginning and end of day, and ongoing throughout shiftComply with all written Good Manufacturing and Agricultural Practices (GMPs/GAPs) at all times, including but not limited to, personal clothing, personal items, personal hygiene, food safety attire, and proper food handling and sanitationFulfill and coordinate Farmstand and wholesale orders, including pallet packing, transportation, and delivery logisticsRead and navigate site maps to communicate locations and adhere to safety zonesMaintain a safe and healthy work area and report any safety concerns to the supervisorOrganize produce and packaging to comply with First In, First Out (FIFO) proceduresParticipate in team meetings and training sessionsCommunicate effectively with other team members and staffContribute positively to team goals and maintain a collaborative work environmentOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsAt least 18 years oldMust be able lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a frequent basisMust be able to read numbers on a digital scaleAccess to reliable transportationAbility to perform physical tasks including grasping, sorting, handling, lifting, bending, crouching, twisting, standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, stooping, and kneelingAbility to work indoors and outdoors year-round, in variable weather conditions with temperatures up to 107FAbility to communicate verbally and in writing in English, in order to follow cleaning schedules, safety guidelines, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and complete logs accuratelyBasic math skills: counting, addition, and subtractionPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in agriculture, horticulture, landscaping, or a related fieldExperience with farm equipment operationDependability, punctuality, and a strong work ethicCustomer service experience, particularly in a retail or outdoor settingKnowledge of food safety principles or willingness to obtain food safety trainingBasic computer knowledgeRequired Certifications/TrainingPeckham Scissor Lift Certificate (obtained on-site, post-hire training)Fork Truck Safety Training (obtained on-site, post-hire training)Food Safety / Produce Handling Training (as assigned, post-hire training)Physical DemandsThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
