Carilion Clinic is seeking a Family or Internal Medicine physician to join its busy and thriving outpatient group practice in Martinsville, Virginia. The role focuses on outpatient care with hospital admissions covered by a hospitalist group, allowing for a balanced professional and personal life in the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains.
Practice Info
- Join an outpatient group practice of 9 physicians and several ACPs
- 28,000 square foot office building with onsite dexa scanning, digital imaging, and a sophisticated lab
- Rotated sub-specialty services include cardiology, orthopaedics, and neurosurgery
- Admissions covered by the hospitalist group at the local community-owned hospital
- Nursing home work is available and optional
- Modern, state-of-the-art office building with an extensive on-site lab and xray suite to include bone densitometry
Responsibilities
- Provide call from home for practice patients, shared equally within the group, currently 1:10
Compensation
- Min Starting Salary: $220,000
- Max Starting Salary: $320,000
- Eligible to participate in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus compensation programs to improve the minimum salary
- Historical averages of Tier 1 and Tier 2 bonus earnings are included in the maximum salary
- Productivity-based/RVU Compensation Plan and Bonus Incentive
- Student Loan Forgiveness available
- Student Loan Repayment - support from Carilion Clinic with the opportunity to apply for the Virginia state matching program (VDH) plus a local repayment program with the Harvest Foundation
- Carilion Clinic is also eligible for the PSLF program

Shift & Schedule
- Call Coverage: 1:10/Phone Call Only for Practice Patients
