Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Family Nurse Practitioner role located in the Cincinnati metropolitan area, OH. The Family Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, including health assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning with a functional medicine lens. Daily responsibilities include conducting in-person visits, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing chronic conditions, and coordinating care with other clinicians. The role also involves educating patients on lifestyle, nutrition, and preventive strategies, documenting care in the medical record, and participating in team meetings to refine care protocols. The clinician will contribute to a supportive, patient-centered environment that aligns with Functional Now’s commitment to whole-body, integrative care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license and certification (Family NP or equivalent), with eligibility to practice in Ohio.


• Demonstrated experience providing primary care across the lifespan, including health promotion, chronic disease management, and preventive care.


• Interest or experience in functional or integrative medicine, including root-cause evaluation and lifestyle-based interventions.


• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop evidence-informed, personalized care plans.


• Clear, empathetic communication skills and the ability to build long-term, trust-based relationships with patients and families.


• Comfort working in a membership-based care model, including longer visits, patient follow-up, and care coordination.


• Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and adapt to evolving practice protocols and patient needs.


• Proficiency with electronic health records and basic clinical documentation standards.


• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program; prior outpatient or family practice experience strongly preferred.
