AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics physician to join their growing Graduate Medical Education Team in central Florida. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a new program, balancing clinical practice (70% family medicine, 30% obstetrics) with significant involvement in medical education. Practice Info

  • Join a growing Graduate Medical Education Team that started in July 2024 with 8 residents per program year.
  • Physician will do roughly 70% family medicine and 30% obstetrics with the opportunity for OB growth as the program builds volume.
  • The West Florida Division Medical Group has nearly tripled in size over the last six years, projected to grow to 835 providers by the end of 2025.
  • The Medical Group spans a broad geography in eight counties, with practices in Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties as well as five Care Pavilions.
  • AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is a 193-bed hospital with 52-acre campus, 193 private rooms, state-of-the-art facilities, and advanced medical technology.
  • The hospital includes a health and wellness center, Inspiration Place for women's health, The Baby Place for labor, delivery and postpartum care, a 24-hour emergency department, cardiac rehab, robotic surgery capabilities, and a wound care center offering hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Split schedule of resident supervision, personal clinical, and administrative time.
  • Work with Program Director on program accreditation, resident recruitment, rotation scheduling, curriculum development and resident coaching.
  • Serve as a member of the program evaluation committee and clinical competency committee.
  • Perform additional academic and clinical duties as assigned by the program director.
  • Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.

Shift & Schedule

  • BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics physician.

  • Model professionalism for residents, medical students and clinical staff.
  • Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the EPIC EMR.
  • Equivalent educational qualifications may be acceptable by the FM Review Committee of the ACGME.
  • Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine.
  • Ideal candidate would have strong communication skills and fit within the mission and vision of AdventHealth.
