Family Medicine with Obstetrics Physician

AdventHealth Wesley Chapel is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics physician to join their growing Graduate Medical Education Team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a new program that started in July 2024, focusing on both clinical practice and medical education. The physician will engage in a split practice of family medicine and obstetrics, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, quality patient care, and resident experience within a supportive community.

Practice Info

• Join a growing Graduate Medical Education Team that started in July 2024 with 8 residents per program year.
• Practice will be roughly 70% family medicine and 30% obstetrics, with opportunity for OB growth.
• The hospital is a 193-bed facility with state-of-the-art facilities and advanced medical technology.
• The facility includes Inspiration Place for women's health and The Baby Place for labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• The West Florida Division Medical Group spans a broad geography in eight counties, with practices in Charlotte, Hardee, Highlands, Hillsborough, Marion, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties, and five Care Pavilions.

Responsibilities

• Work full time with a split schedule of resident supervision, personal clinical, and administrative time.
• Work with Program Director on program accreditation, resident recruitment, rotation scheduling, curriculum development and resident coaching.
• Serve as a member of the program evaluation committee and clinical competency committee.
• Perform additional academic and clinical duties as assigned by the program director.
• Model professionalism for residents, medical students and clinical staff.
• Administer and maintain an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

• BC/BE Family Medicine with Obstetrics physician.
• Desire to be a part of a growing program.
• Passion for medical education.
• Place a priority on collaboration, quality of care, and the patient and resident experience.
• Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Possess excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and the EPIC EMR.
• Ideal candidate would have experience in academic medicine.
• Equivalent educational qualifications may be acceptable by the FM Review Committee of the ACGME.
