Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine provider to join their well-established primary care practice at Marshfield Medical Center - Wausau Center in Wausau, Wisconsin. This 100% outpatient role offers flexible scheduling, including a 4-day work week, and the opportunity to work with an experienced team of physicians and APC partners. The position emphasizes comprehensive patient care across all ages, with strong encouragement for involvement in medical education and research.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit (if applicable to the setting)
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders
  • Provide pre-operative care of surgical patients
  • Provide post-operative medical care of surgical patients
  • Address return to work issues

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Experience can be demonstrated by a residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations (for recent graduates) OR a quality profile from hospital(s) showing clinical activity for the last 12 months (for experienced applicants)
  • Ability to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing a case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
