Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the US, is seeking Family Medicine physicians to provide comprehensive outpatient-only care in Sioux Falls. Practice Info

• Outpatient-Only family medicine, newborn nursery is optional
• Practice sizes range from 5-11 physicians, as well as Advanced Practice Providers
• Some clinics also include Pediatricians & OB/GYN's
• The clinics and medical center utilize EPIC for their EMR
• The clinics offer an in-house lab and basic radiology

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examination
• Admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of various body systems
• Provide pre-operative care of surgical patients
• Provide post-operative medical care of surgical patients
• Address return to work issues

Shift & Schedule

• Call is currently shared with additional Sanford physician groups which is 1:45 for non-OB and 1:5 for FM w/ OB (1-2 weeks / year for the non-OB)
• FM w/ OB take OB call only

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
