Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Family Medicine physician to join a fast-growing practice in Alexandria, MN. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages within a supportive and expanding healthcare system. The position emphasizes a balanced work-life with a 3-day clinic work week and shared call responsibilities.

Practice Info

  • Sanford Health Alexandria boasts a primary care service area of 50,000 and a specialty care service area of 100,000.
  • The Broadway Clinic in Alexandria includes 18 physicians and 15 advanced practice providers across 15 specialties.
  • Family Medicine call is 1:4 and shared with Sanford physicians.
  • Acute Care Clinic Setting.
  • Pediatric Call Coverage.
  • Alomere Health in Alexandria, MN provides 24/7 hospital coverage.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illnesses, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions, and functional disorders.
  • Provide pre-operative care of surgical patients.
  • Provide post-operative medical care of surgical patients.
  • Address return to work issues.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA), as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
