Core Faculty Physician – Family & Community Medicine Residency Program

Join Onvida Health’s expanding Family & Community Medicine Residency Program in Southwest Arizona.

This is an excellent opportunity for a board-certified Family Medicine physician seeking a hospital-employed faculty role that combines outpatient patient care, resident education, and mentorship. You will practice within a supportive academic and clinical environment with strong specialty access and systemwide resources, allowing you to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while helping develop the next generation of physicians.

About the Position

  • Full-time, hospital-employed position.
  • Outpatient-focused faculty role structured as a 60/40 FTE split across patient care, resident precepting, and administrative responsibilities.
  • Maintain your own panel of patients while participating in resident education and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with an experienced GME team of physicians, coordinators, and support staff.
  • J-1 and H-1B visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

  • American Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Three years of Family Medicine experience preferred.
  • Previous residency program leadership or faculty experience preferred.
  • Commitment to resident education, mentorship, and community-focused care.

About Our Family & Community Medicine Residency Program

  • Established in July 2013, Onvida Health’s Family & Community Medicine Residency Program is a three-year program that has earned the highest level of accreditation from the ACGME.
  • The program began with four residents and has grown to 32 residents.
  • We welcome 10 PGY-1 residents annually and plan to continue expanding the program.
  • Residency interviews are conducted from October through January each year, allowing the program to thoughtfully recruit future physicians committed to community-focused care.
  • Our Sports Medicine Fellowship, established in 2019, graduates one fellow annually.
  • The program benefits from academic affiliations and support from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and Mayo Clinic Scottsdale.
