About the Role
Join a small, growing family law practice in San Diego as an associate attorney. You will manage a family law caseload independently, with support from principal and senior attorneys available when needed, and provide high-quality representation while maintaining a reasonable caseload.
What You'll Do
- Manage family law cases from intake through resolution, taking responsibility for case progress and day-to-day decisions.
- Represent clients in matters involving custody, support, property division, and domestic violence.
- Draft motions, declarations, and settlement agreements.
- Maintain organized case files, communicate clearly with clients, and manage billing entries.
- Handle a monthly minimum of 110 billable hours while maintaining a manageable caseload.
What We're Looking For
- At least 5 years of recent, dedicated family law experience, primarily focused on family law matters, and current work as a family law attorney.
- A California law license and a record with no discipline by the State Bar of California.
- Substantive knowledge of custody, support, property division, and domestic violence matters.
- Experience managing an independent caseload, or experience in a second-chair or supervised role with readiness to take the next step.
- Independent drafting experience with motions, declarations, and settlement agreements.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills, along with experience using case management software and QuickBooks for billing entries.
- Certified Family Law Specialist status is not required but is considered an advantage.
- No criminal conviction for domestic violence and no permanent criminal or civil restraining order or harassment order issued against you.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $180,000 to $225,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
Location
This is primarily an in-office, on-site role based in San Diego, California.
