Program/Site DirectorThe Program/Site Director manages the day-to-day operations of their specific site location; and is responsible for establishing an engaging, academically challenging and enriching program that is aligned with the New York State Learning Standards and Common Core Curriculum.Specific responsibilities include:Coordinating program at specified site location during after-school hours, school breaks and/or summer recess.Providing and maintaining materials and resources for the SCO program.Coordinating special events in collaboration with the Education Specialist.Facilitating and maintaining working relationships with schools and offsite staff.Devising and executing recruitment and retention strategies in coordination with stakeholders and other agency-wide programs to ensure maximum number of children is being served.Providing support to on-site staff through scheduled supervision and staff evaluations.Conducting regularly scheduled staff meetings to ensure that quality programming is being executed at all times.Supervising and supporting on-site staff in day to day tasks.Facilitating trainings and conducting observations of on-site staff.Interviewing and hiring candidates for open positions.Providing crisis intervention with onsite participants and making referrals when necessary.Maintaining, collecting, reporting and analyzing data as required by the agency and funders.Maintaining documentation and confidential files as required by the agency, DOE, DOH, DYCD.Generating monthly reports in a timely fashion.Actively participating in department-wide meetings and staff trainings.Representing the agency in meetings with outside organizations and in various venues.Performing other duties as assigned.Qualifications include:Bachelor's Degree (Elementary Education, Child Development, or related field).Minimum two years direct experience working with children under the age of 13 years.Minimum one year in a supervisory capacity (after-school or related field).Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and experience in curriculum development.Strong knowledge of child development and enrichment programming important.Highly organized and detail oriented.Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet expected timelines.Willingness to travel locally.Previous experience working in an arts-related environment is a plus.Bilingual (Spanish and English) is a plus.In addition, employees need to possess the following characteristics:Be team players.Have a strong sensitivity to cultural differences present among staff and clients within our organization.Possess a strong belief in people's ability to grow and change; forge a mutually respectful partnership with persons served and their families.Ability to set limits and maintain helping role of practitioner and to intervene appropriately.Working conditions include:Office is located in Brooklyn, NYRemote/work from home as neededSalary:$58K : With BA degree$65K : With MA degreeThe Program/Site Director reports directly to the Director of School Based Services.
