Join Our Team as a contract/ locum Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at WWKMHCC – An Indian Health Service Facility in Sisseton, SD

Prairie Band Health Services is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join the Family Practice Clinic at the Woodrow Wilson Keeble Memorial Health Care Center (WWKMHCC) , an Indian Health Service (IHS) facility located in Sisseton, South Dakota . This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week government contract role, starting in October , offering you the opportunity to provide high-quality care to the Lake Traverse Reservation community.

Learn more about the facility and community:

• 40 hours per week | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Long-term contract with potential for extension
• Local and travel providers welcome
• Prior IHS or government healthcare experience a plus
• Minimum 2 years of experience treating all ages
• Open to Family NPs, Internal Medicine NPs, and PAs
• Local providers are encouraged to apply.
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide primary care services to American Indian and Alaska Native patients across the lifespan
• Conduct physical exams, review patient histories, and order diagnostic tests
• Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with IHS formulary guidelines
• Develop and manage individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention and health maintenance
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and clinical documentation
• Follow infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality protocols
• Utilize the Patient Referred Care (PRC) process for external referrals

Additional Duties:
Other duties may be assigned by the clinic supervisor as needed. Flexibility, professionalism, and a strong commitment to patient care are essential.

Prairie Band, LLC complies with Title 22: Employment Code of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation . This position is classified as Tier 2 , and preference will be given to qualified candidates as outlined in Section 22-2-4(B).

• Must be certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Academy of Physician Assistants
• 2 years of experience as a Family, Internal Medicine or Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner, Preferred
• Must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration from any State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
• Must be Board Eligible or Certified
• DEA
• Must have current BLS
• ACLS, PALS preferred
• Certification of Education - copy of diploma or transcripts
• Must be a US Citizen living primarily in the United States
• Must be willing to pass a federal background check
• U.S. Citizenship and current residence in the continental United States
• Must not require visa sponsorship (no visa holders or green card residents)
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
