Job Summary
A client-focused law firm in Shorewood, Wisconsin, seeks a Family Attorney to manage a varied family law caseload, including divorce, custody, placement, and support matters. In this role, you will handle cases from intake through resolution by advising clients, drafting pleadings and motions, conducting discovery, negotiating settlements, and appearing regularly in Wisconsin family courts. You will work closely with experienced attorneys in a small, collaborative environment that emphasizes ethical, detail-oriented advocacy, clear communication, and personalized service, with meaningful responsibility and hands-on experience from day one.
Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a family law caseload, including divorce, custody, placement, and support matters.
  • Conduct client intakes, assess legal issues, and develop case strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, financial disclosures, and settlement agreements.
  • Appear in Wisconsin family courts for hearings, conferences, and trials.
  • Lead negotiations and mediation to achieve practical, client-centered outcomes.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly with clients regarding case status and legal options.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and staff in a close-knit, professional environment.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, case files, and compliance with court deadlines.
  • Uphold high ethical standards and provide exceptional client service.
  • Participate in business development and community networking activities as needed.
