Job Summary
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist I
***$7,500 Sign-On Bonus*** • ***Relocation Bonus Available***
The technologist will perform a variety of standardized imaging procedures, set up and adjust related equipment, and maintain related records under the direction of the Senior Imaging Staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform standardized imaging procedures ensuring accurate imaging as per defined protocols or under the direction of the radiologist/physician.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment safely while maintaining regulatory standards during all procedures.
- Explain procedure and preparation to patients; perform patient imaging by interacting with patients using professionalism, courtesy, and safety guidelines.
- Check patient studies for completeness in the absence of the attending physician.
- Maintain the area, supplies, and equipment in a neat, orderly, and prepared manner; perform room and equipment disinfection procedures.
- Assume daily equipment calibration; report equipment malfunctions and need for adjustments and/or repair.
- Train new technologists on new procedures or new equipment; oversee students when applicable.
- If qualified per IRS policy, a relocation allowance is authorized for this position.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized radiologic or magnetic resonance imaging program, such as:
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiography Program
- ARRT recognized Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Program
- American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) recognized Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Program
- Must pass the ARRT (Radiography) registry within 6 months of employment.
- Must pass the ARRT (MRI) registry within 2 years of employment.
- For ARRT or ARMRIT Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist Program graduates: must pass the ARRT (MRI) or ARMRIT registry within 6 months of employment.
- MR imaging experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand constantly; walk and sit occasionally.
- Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.
- Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.
- Able to reach constantly.
- Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
