Extra Duty Stipend Job Description
Extra Duty Stipends are awarded to employees who oversee, direct or contribute to an activity outside of the regular workday. These activities include HUUSD sanctioned activities, or extension of existing HUUSD activities or co-curricular programs that culminate in a public performance (product) or a local, state, or national competition.

Stipend Amount: Co-curricular Category D, range $1500 to $2500 based on experience, this year $2500.

Position Objectives:
Creates the lighting concept and equipment requirements for a production.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lighting Designers work most closely with the Director, Set builder, and costumer, to create and implement a lighting scheme that communicates the feeling of a production and guides the audience's attention in specific ways throughout a performance.
Number of Students Participating (if applicable): As low as 0 but has been as much as 20
When the Activity Occurs (outside of regular workday/weekends): Monday through Friday
Time Commitment:
Prep work: 20 Hours
Weeks 1-7: 2 hours/week
Week 8: 8 hours
Week 9 (show week): 20 hours
Rough total: 62 hours
