The Department of Chemistry at the University of Texas at Austin isseeking to hire a tenured faculty member in experimentalelectrochemistry, who would also assume the role of Director of theBard Center for Electrochemistry (Bard CEC), subject to availablefunding. We are particularly interested in candidates who areinternationally recognized academic leaders in electrochemistryresearch (broadly defined). This position will provide a uniqueopportunity to lead the future direction and growth of theacclaimed Bard CEC, and to expand its impact across theelectrochemical sciences at UT Austin and beyond. This position isassociated with a personal chair as part of the CenterDirectorship. A successful candidate will also be a dynamicdepartment colleague, demonstrated through a sustained record ofexcellence in teaching, research, mentoring, and service.
The Bard Center for Electrochemistry was founded by Professor AllenJ. Bard in 2006 with support from the Welch Foundation, tocapitalize on a half century of excellence in electrochemistry atthe University of Texas at Austin. The CEC fosters collaborativeresearch programs in the electrochemical sciences. Its broadmission is to advance research and solve problems, fundamental orapplied, related to ion and electorn transfer at interfaces. TheBard CEC connects fundamental electrochemistry with materialsscience and engineering, with applications in diverse fields suchas, energy, sustainability, health, and emerging technologies. Itis comprised of a multi-disciplinary group of more than 250faculty, staff, and student researchers spanning the chemistry,materials, and engineering aspects of electrochemical science. Qualifications
PhD in chemistry or closely related field.
