Applicants requiring sponsorship will not be considered.The Factory Automation Engineer designs, implements, and optimizes automated systems and robotics within manufacturing environments. Their primary goal is to enhance production efficiency, quality, and safety while reducing manual labor and operational downtime.Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Design & Integration: Design control systems, automated workflows, and equipment layouts using CAD tools.
Integrate machinery with IT/OT infrastructure.Programming & Configuration: Develop and program logic for PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA, HMIs, and robotics.Implementation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation, testing, and deployment of new automation hardware and software on the factory floor.Troubleshooting: Diagnose system issues, hardware malfunctions, and integration failures to restore operations.Optimization & Innovation: Support Industry 4.0 initiatives by leveraging intelligent systems, machine learning, and data analytics to optimize process control.Documentation & Compliance: Prepare technical documentation, train operators, and ensure all systems adhere to OSHA and industry regulatory safety standards.Education and Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Computer Science highly preferredMinimum 5 years in industrial control systems and/or smart manufacturingProficiency in automated material handling systems including AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot) and AGV (Autonomous Guided Vehicle) integrationHands-on PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi)Proficiency in industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet)Familiarity with robotics, sensors, and actuatorsUnderstanding of MES/EAP and SCADA systemsStrong project management and cross-functional communication skillsOr equivalent combination of education and experienceBE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
