Facility TechnicianLocation: San Jose, CAJob Type: 18 Months ContractSchedule: 1st Shift - 5:00 AM - 2:00 PMThe Facility Technician is responsible for performing facility maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to ensure minimal site downtime. This role supports the safe and efficient operation of facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and corrective actions.Key ResponsibilitiesFacility Maintenance & RepairPerform electrical inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and preventive maintenance.Conduct plumbing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and general upkeep.Perform HVAC system inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, testing, and maintenance.Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair internal and external building infrastructure.Work Order & Compliance ManagementGenerate, review, track, perform, and close maintenance work orders.Maintain compliance schedules and complete required calendar-based maintenance activities.Ensure maintenance records and documentation are accurate and up to date.Shipping, Receiving & Logistics SupportSupport shipping and receiving activities.Fabricate custom crates for equipment and materials.Assist with loading, unloading, packaging, and shipment preparation.Equipment OperationSafely operate heavy equipment including:Overhead cranesHoistsForkliftsBoom liftsEquipment & System UpgradesPerform retrofits and modifications to existing facility equipment and systems.Support continuous improvement and facility upgrade projects.Engineering SupportAssist tool and test engineers with tooling fabrication, assembly, functional testing, and validation activities.Support equipment setup, maintenance, and testing operations.Vendor & Contractor CoordinationInterface with internal teams, contractors, and facility maintenance vendors.Coordinate maintenance activities and service requirements.Assist with procurement activities and vendor component pick-up.Qualifications & RequirementsStrong knowledge of facility systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building infrastructure.Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for facility equipment and systems.Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance activities.Ability to operate material handling and lifting equipment safely.Strong organizational and documentation skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
