Facility Maintenance TechnicianHJ Staffing a reliable, hands-on Facility Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep of campus facilities and grounds for our client. This role handles general maintenance, minor repairs, and preventive upkeep across plumbing, electrical, and light carpentry systems — helping keep buildings safe, functional, and welcoming for the entire campus community.Position SummaryThis is a general maintenance position responsible for the upkeep, minor repair, and maintenance of plumbing fixtures and electrical devices/appliances throughout campus facilities and immediate grounds. Some minor carpentry work is also required.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform minor repairs and/or replacement of plumbing fixtures, valves, and related devicesPerform minor repairs and/or replacement of electrical fixtures, devices, and appliancesComplete minor carpentry work to repair windows, doors, hardware, screens, and furnitureDeliver exemplary customer service to internal and external customersObserve and report defects, deterioration, or wear and tear on facilities via the work order systemAssist in coordinating major repairs, painting, and facility setup within scheduled timeframesCommunicate with administrative staff regarding event-related furnishing needs and other special requestsConduct routine inspections of all buildings and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptlyCollaborate with tradespeople and custodial staff on day-to-day duties and responsibilitiesRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum 5 years of related maintenance experienceStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across a diverse communityExcellent prioritization skills and adaptability to changing situationsStrong oral and written communication skills; able to read and interpret operating manuals, technical procedures, and maintenance instructionsAbility to communicate effectively with the public and campus communityBeginner-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)Familiarity with email systems such as Outlook or Lotus NotesMust pass a pre-employment drug testEOE/VET/DIS
