Jamaica Corps Cleaning And MaintenanceResponsible for the overall cleaning and preventative maintenance for the Jamaica Corps.ResponsibilitiesThorough cleaning of the entire building as outlined in the cleaning scheduleInventory control, ordering and stocking of all cleaning supplies and equipmentSetting up and breaking down rooms for program purposes as neededCleaning and maintenance of outside grounds & windowsTouch up paint as neededTimely moving of all donations through contact with ARC and thrift store representativePreparation of A/C and Heating Thermostats and Heat-Timer for winter and summerBreakdown and disposal of boxes and other garbage daily, keeping dumpsters and the area neat and cleanTaking out dumpsters as scheduled and bringing them back on time.Turn out all lights (except offices) and secure building each day prior to leavingUnloading food items and other donationsAssist in food pick-up from donorsMove/lift furnishings, equipment and food itemsErrands and/or donation pick-upSalt & snow removal of sidewalks, entrance ways, dumpster area, and parking area clean-up included snow fall outside of the normal work scheduleComply with preventative maintenance scheduleWork in consultation with Direct Supervisor & Corps Officer for any building maintenance problemsPreventative maintenance and cleaning of vehiclesHVAC, Plumbing & electrical work as permitted by respective codesCoordination with outside contractors for quotes and work as approvedCoordination of all inspections related to physical buildingsChristmas Related Duties:Food / toy pickups and deliveries as neededTransportation of kettle workers as neededChristmas Castle Set-upDaily cleaning of Christmas CastleAssist staff and volunteers with lifting/moving items as needed.QualificationsHigh School graduate or GED desired but not requiredExperience with cleaning materials and methods desiredMust be able to work independently with only some supervision and supportPossess oral and written communication skills, as well as basic mathematical abilitiesMust be able to use commercial cleaning equipment, including small power and hand toolsAble to do repairs and other maintenance work, such as fixing, replacing, and repairing, and have a good working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and paintingMust have experience with operating manual/power tools in a safe mannerAbility to work outdoors under adverse weather conditionsAbility to willingly, attend and participate in training sessionsMust be adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment and job requirements.Must demonstrate an awareness of deadlines and a sense of urgency when accomplishing tasks of a time-sensitive natureMust have the ability to set appropriate priorities in the absence of direct guidance
