Requires occasional supervision and refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:General Maintenance:Maintains all buildings and structures on propertyPrioritizes campus-wide preventative maintenance and predictive repairsRepairs indoor and outdoor light fixtures and replaces bulbsMonitors and maintains water storage tank, wellhouse, and wellMakes minor carpentry repairsRepairs minor plumbing problems as directedMaintains water softener and water filtration systems, replacing filters and adding salt on a regular basisHauls and stocks firewood and cleans fire pitMaintains parking areasPlumbing: Leak resolution, fixture replacement, toilet maintenance, and repairMaintains fire extinguishersMaintains and cleans HVAC systems and replaces filters regularly, many of which are in attics and tight spaces requiring crawling in confined spaces and use of an extension ladderMaintains property, facilities, sidewalks, parking areas, and trails so they are safe and secure for clients, guests, and employeesMaintains and organizes all tools and equipment used in maintenance tasksMaintains and fuels campus vehicles, including guest shuttle and UTVLandscaping:Mows lawns, weed-eats, edges along sidewalks, and weeds and maintains flower beds as neededRemoves, trims, and maintains trees as neededMaintains road and parking lot and maintains the appearance of the groundsMaintains sidewalks and keeps free of debrisCleans and maintains building exteriorsOngoing plant and yard care, irrigation system management, and repairRemoves snow and ice on road, parking lot, and sidewalksPressure washes sidewalksOther Duties/Responsibilities:Performs minor facility and equipment repairsTroubleshoots and repairs plumbing, electrical, and heating/cooling issues and liaises with contractors if neededServes as consultant to GM on mechanical, grounds, and facility as neededStocks/maintains garage and all storage areasWorks with and provides access to vendors for various tradesWorks with Hospitality team in all areas of hospitality, including cleaning cabins, chapel, and Hospitality Center as neededAssists with serving guests, cooking, and kitchen cleaning as neededPerforms other duties as assignedWorking Environment/Physical Requirements:Working outdoorsMust be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical examMust be able to lift up to 50lbsMust be able to push/pull up to 30lbsMust be able to bend and reach above headMust be comfortable on ladders and roofsSome exposure to gases, odors, fumes, and sharp utensilsOccasional holiday and weekend work is requiredJob Qualifications/RequirementsCharacter/Spiritual:Exemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, "Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us.."Pursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith ; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayerPrays personally for Focus on the Family's staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayerEngages in Christian ministry; Demonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core valuesKnowledge/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent3-5 years of experience in building maintenance or constructionMust be able to operate a UTV, tractor, and mowerMust have clean driving recordSkills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:Ability to establish and maintain rapport with employees in other departmentsAbility to provide each guest with an experience that is characterized by highly attentive service, excellence, and cleanliness; Ability to work independently without immediate supervisionVarious construction trades power and hand tools; Heavy equipment, i.e., forklifts, tractors, large trucksAbility to research, make a diagnosis and repair system problems and failuresPay Range: $18.00 to $21.00Application Materials Required: Cover Letter, Resume/CVApplication Materials Instructions: Please identify the job specific minimum qualifications you possess in your cover letter and be sure your resume includes any and all relevant experience to be accurately assessed against the qualifications listed in the posting.
