Facilities TechnicianGriffon Aerospace is a Madison, Alabama-based defense contractor specializing in the design and manufacture of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) for military customers. Our capabilities span full-system engineering design, composite and metallic fabrication, systems integration, and flight operations. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a reliable and self-sufficient Facilities Technician to keep our buildings, systems, and grounds running smoothly every day.The Facilities Technician is the go-to person for keeping Griffon Aerospace's physical plant in good working order. This is a hands-on role focused on performing and coordinating routine maintenance, responding to day-to-day facility needs, and serving as the on-site point of contact when outside contractors or vendors are on the property. The right candidate takes pride in a well-maintained facility, can handle a wide variety of tasks independently, and knows when to call in a specialist. This role will report to Griffon Executive Leadership.Grounds and CleanlinessPerform daily cleaning of kitchens and bathrooms, addressing messes, restocking supplies, and handling anything that cannot wait for the weekly cleaning serviceOversee lawn care and landscaping vendors and perform light grounds maintenance as neededEnsure common areas, restrooms, and production support spaces are clean and stockedCoordinate with janitorial staff or services on schedules and standardsBuilding and Systems MaintenancePerform routine preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC filters, plumbing fixtures, electrical components (lighting, outlets, panels), doors, hardware, and general building systemsChange filters, replace bulbs, fix leaks, patch walls, and handle general repairs as neededMonitor building systems and report or escalate issues that require licensed trade workMaintain an organized log of maintenance activities, service records, and equipment notesConduct regular walkthroughs of the facility to catch problems early and maintain a clean, safe environmentRespond to day-to-day maintenance requests from staff in a timely mannerVendor and Contractor CoordinationBe present and available when outside contractors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, pest control, etc.) are on-siteEscort vendors through the facility, ensure work is completed as expected, and report back to leadershipCoordinate scheduling of routine service visits (lawn care, janitorial, fire suppression inspections, etc.)Review vendor invoices for accuracy and route for approvalConstruction and Improvement ProjectsServe as the on-site eyes and ears during facility renovation or construction workTrack punch lists and open items, and communicate status updates to leadershipAssist with moving equipment, staging areas, and coordinating access for construction crewsAssist in gathering quotes from contractors for small improvement projectsSafety and Compliance SupportPerform routine checks on fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, eyewash stations, and other life safety equipmentFlag facility-related safety hazards and report them to the appropriate personEnsure outside contractors sign in and follow Griffon's on-site safety requirementsRequired3+ years of hands-on experience in facilities maintenance, building trades, or a closely related fieldWorking knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systemsAbility to perform a wide range of physical tasks including lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined or non-climate-controlled spacesReliable, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own daily prioritiesValid driver's licensePreferredExperience working in a manufacturing or industrial environmentFamiliarity with basic safety practices (OSHA, fire code, building code)Experience coordinating with outside contractors or vendorsTrade certification or vocational training in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing is a plusCompensationBase Salary $45,000 - $60,000 / yearSalary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
