Facilities TechnicianVast is looking for a Facilities Technician, reporting to the Supervisor of Facilities, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of human-rated space stations.This will be a full-time, non-exempt position located in our Long Beach location.Responsibilities:Schedule and/or perform routine building maintenance tasks including non-technical troubleshooting and repair of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and/or carpentry requestsComplete various break/fix repairs to the facilities and premises as assigned. Some examples could include painting, patching walls, replacing ceiling tiles, assembling furniture, office equipment, and kitchen equipment, installing, replacing, and repairing carpet, tiles, etc.Day to day management of various contractorsPerform job walk-downs with vendors, engineers, supervisors, and managersAid janitorial and hospitality staff with general requests for support in the manufacturing and office spaces including moving furniture, racks, and equipment, disposing of garbage using forklifted dumpster bins, set-up and tear down of special event areasOperate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts when neededMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalency certificate2+ years of facilities and/or maintenance experiencePreferred Skills & Experience:Experience with facilities within an aerospace industryExperience in construction, project management, equipment maintenance, and tenant improvementsBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVAC/R), concrete, framing, and industrial gas tradeKnowledge of basic engineering and construction principles and methodsFamiliar with industrial air fittings and maintenanceAble to read instructions and blueprintsExperience in a fast-paced work environmentSelf-motivated and works well with othersManage company provided set of basic maintenance toolsSafety training and use of forklifts, scissor lifts, cranes & hoists, fall protection equipmentAdditional Requirements:Willingness to work overtime, or weekends to support critical mission milestonesAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, unassistedMust be able to stand for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this positionMust have a valid CA driver's licensePay Range: California$27.60 - $50.30 USDBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
