Families in Transition/Housing Benefits has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic Facilities Technician to join our team in Manchester, NH.The Facilities Technician II supports building operations by performing maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across properties. This role handles mechanical, plumbing, lighting, and general facility issues; completes custodial and landscaping tasks, responds to emergencies and system alarms; ensures safety and compliance; and may guide junior staff while coordinating with vendors and contractors.Essential Functions:Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance across propertiesRepair and replace fixtures (screens, blinds, ceiling tiles, doors, furniture, etc.)Install items such as shelves, signs, and equipmentSafely move furniture and equipment using proper techniquesMaintain mechanical and plumbing systems (filters, belts, drains, basic repairs)Maintain lighting and alarm systems, including proper disposal of materialsCarry out landscaping tasks (snow removal, mowing, equipment operation)Perform general custodial work (cleaning, waste removal, transporting items)Respond to emergencies, weather conditions, and building safety needsMonitor and respond to system alarmsFollow safety policies and address hazards or compliance issuesCommunicate facility issues and manage work ordersMaintain clean, safe workspaces and equipmentSupervise, train, and support junior facilities staffCoordinate with vendors and contractors on projectsComplete other assigned dutiesSchedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pmWe're offering $23-$25 per hour.Benefits Include:Generous PTO policy9 paid holidaysMedical insuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceEmployer paid Life and Disability Insurance403b plan with company matchEmployee assistance program (EAP)Verizon wireless cell phone discountWorking Advantage/ Tickets at Work benefit program30% employee discount at Outfitters Thrift StoreRequirementsMinimum Requirements (Education/Experience/Certificates/Licenses):High School Diploma or GED requiredAbility to travel to multiple locationsMinimum 3 years of property maintenance experience (including unit turnovers)Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a teamSkill in coaching and training others positivelyAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 poundsAbility to work in both hot and cold environmentsProficiency with hand and mechanical toolsAbility to handle heavy workloads, stress, and interruptionsStrong communication and interpersonal skills; open to feedbackAbility to read blueprints, drawings, and identify small defectsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skills in maintenance tasksAbility to diagnose issues quickly and complete complex repairsStrong customer service and conflict resolution skillsExperience working directly with customers or clientsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in affordable housing settings (1+ year)Experience operating a plow truck in residential areasKnowledge of HVAC and mechanical systems
