Valid Texas Driver License.Experience2+ years of experience in general building maintenanceRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair proceduresAbility to follow verbal and written instructionsAbility to communicate effectively (verbally)Ability to work in a team environment but work independently when neededAbility to operate hand and power toolsAbility to travel as necessaryResponsibilities and DutiesAssist skilled workers with the repair and maintenance of district facilities, including repairing woodwork; replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems, and replacing broken glass.Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds, perform maintenance and minor repairsDetect and report needed major repairs on building structures and their systems, including lockers, furniture and equipmentComplete repairs as requested on work orders and record time and materials usedAssist with mowing and detailing of district grounds, as neededAssist with relocation of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc.Move, install, assemble and repair all school furniture and playground equipment, as needed.Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers, and other items as requiredInstall door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screensInstall ceiling and flooring materialsOther job functions as assigned by supervisionOperate light truck to transport furniture and equipment throughout districtMaintain a professional attitude while working with district administrators, staff and studentsAll equipment required to perform job duties and tasks previously described.The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
