Supervisor, FacilitiesThe Supervisor, Facilities is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of roads and grounds, custodial, and maintenance staff, ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of roads, grounds, and building on campus. This role involves coordinating with various teams, supervising staff, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standards.Essential Functions:Core Values: Demonstrate TSTC's core values of Excellence, Accountability, Service, and Integrity in all interactions with stakeholders, customers, students, and community members.Supervision and Leadership: Lead and supervise the custodial, maintenance, and grounds staff, providing direction, support, and performance feedback. Conduct regular team meetings to communicate objectives, policies, and procedures.Operations Management: Plan, schedule, and oversee routine maintenance repair work for roads, grounds, and buildings. Ensure the timely completion of custodial tasks, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across college facilities.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance operations implementing improvements as needed.Budget and Resource Management: Assist in the development and management of the department budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.Safety Compliance: Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards. Promote a culture of safety within the team, providing training, and resources to support safe work practices.Customer Service: Respond promptly to maintenance and custodial requests. Foster positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3-5 years experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field.Certification in Facilities Management (CFM) or related certification is a plus.Strong knowledge of maintenance, custodial, and or groundskeeping practices and procedures.Strong leadership and team management skills.Knowledge of building systems, landscaping, and or custodial practices.Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects.Valid Texas Driver's License and insurability under TSTC Liability Policy.Working Conditions:Exertion: Significant physical effort and strength required daily, often involving awkward postures and moderate lifting.Exposure: Regular exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, and temperature extremes.Risk: Occasional exposure to minor hazards controlled by safety precautions.Note: This job description is intended to provide an overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of all responsibilities and requirements.
