This full-time position requires extensive regional travel and a commitment to off-hours availability and emergency response across 15+ locations spanning from Fort Myers to Orlando to Gainesville.
Candidates must be self-directed, reliable, and capable of managing facility needs independently across a broad geographic area.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform general handyman and maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, minor appliance install, etc.Travel across a multi-site region (Fort Myers, Orlando, Gainesville, and surrounding areas) to perform repairs, inspections, and scheduled maintenanceConduct routine inspections of assigned clinic locations to proactively identify and address maintenance needsRespond promptly to emergency facility situations outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysCoordinate with and escort third-party contractors and vendors during service visits to clinic operationsMaintain inventory of tools, parts, and supplies; ensure vehicles and equipment are ready for deploymentAssist with minor office moves, furniture assembly/installation, and space setup as neededDocument all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately and in a timely mannerParticipate in an on-call rotation and be reachable and responsive during assigned on-call periodsRequirementsQualifications Required:1–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related tradeDemonstrated handyman skills across multiple disciplines (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, etc.)Valid drivers license with a clean driving record; comfortable driving long distances across the regionWillingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Central and Southwest Florida on short noticeFull availability for off-hours, weekend, and emergency on-call response — this is a firm requirement of the roleStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionExcellent communication skills for coordinating across clinic staff and management remotelyAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, kneeling, and working at heightsPreferred:Experience working in a healthcare, medical office, or multi-site environmentFamiliarity with Southwest and Central FloridaKnowledge of HVAC systems, fire suppression systems, or building automationOSHA 10 or OSHA 30 – workplace safety, very commonly required in facilities rolesWork Environment & Physical Requirements:Work is performed across 15+ clinic locations throughout Central and Southwest FloridaMust be comfortable working in occupied medical office settings with minimal disruption to patients and staffSignificant driving required; candidate should be comfortable with frequent regional travelStanding, walking, and physical labor for extended periods requiredBackground Screening Requirement:This position requires background screening through the Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
