Facilities OperatorAs a Facilities Operator, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of critical facilities equipment at one of Tesla's most advanced manufacturing facilities. Your role will involve monitoring and operating utility systems to guarantee uninterrupted production while upholding Tesla's high standards for safety, efficiency, and sustainability. You will have the opportunity to contribute to world-class operational practices that drive energy efficiency and minimize environmental impact, working closely with system experts to continuously enhance these systems.ResponsibilitiesOperate and monitor utility equipment using control systems, ensuring optimal performance, and verifying system trends.

Systems include Compressed Air, Chilled Water, RODI Generation, Chemical SystemsReview, manage & respond to Building Management Systems (BMS) alarms and out-of-spec conditions, collaborating with engineering teams to rationalize alarms and document changesExecute equipment startup, shutdown, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, adjusting processes based on operational needs and alarm responsesUpdate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and alarm cards following system design or specification changes, coordinating with engineering for reviewAct as the point of contact for ongoing process occurrences, working cross-functionally with teams such as Manufacturing, Engineering, Construction, Security, EHS, and ContractorsImprove equipment and system reliability through collaboration with teammates and facilities engineers, working from schematics and P&ID diagramsUtilize the Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to monitor equipment status, create work orders, and escalate major issues to the engineering teamRequirementsUnderstanding of basic mechanical and electrical system operationsExperience with chemical handling and electrical distributionAdaptability to a flexible work schedule, including night shifts and compressed work weeksEffective verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detailAbility to wear required PPE and work in hazardous areas, including the ability to discern audible alarmsAbility to sit, stand, or walk for 10+ hours per day, lift 10-20 lbs. regularly, and climb ladders/stairsCollege/technical school or equivalent work experience.
