This role supports the safe and reliable operation of facility utilities and infrastructure by following established procedures, work instructions, and guidance from senior technicians and leadership. The technician responds to routine operational issues and assists with repairs while developing technical skills and gaining hands-on experience across facility systems. This position is responsible for learning fundamental processes, adhering to safety and compliance standards, and contributing to overall team effectiveness within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Duties:Functional Operations: Perform routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems under close supervisionAssist with basic troubleshooting and repairs using standard tools, equipment, and work instructionsServe as a first responder to operational issues by escalating and supporting resolution effortsMonitor basic facility systems including compressed air, HVAC, electrical distribution, and water systemsSupport utility restoration efforts during system interruptions under guidanceUse basic measuring and diagnostic tools to monitor system performanceOperate and maintain tools and equipment within functional areaPerformance Optimization & Continuous Improvement:Identify and report equipment abnormalities, inefficiencies, or potential issues to senior techniciansSupport continuous improvement initiatives by following established processes and providing feedbackParticipate in basic problem-solving activities and team improvement discussionsTraining & Team Support:Train and mentor team members at the same or lower levelActively participate in on-the-job training and skill development activitiesDemonstrate willingness to learn new systems, processes, and technical skillsCross-Functional Collaboration & Communication:Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues in a timely mannerWork with vendors, contractors, and internal teams under direction to support maintenance and operationsCommunicate clearly regarding system status, issues, and completed workQuality, Safety, & Compliance:Follow all safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements at all timesSupport proper implementation of processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specificationsMaintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation in CMMSFollow established maintenance procedures (MOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)Uphold 6S initiatives and ensure area cleanliness is maintained to safety and operational standardsUtilize required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety protocolsMaintain flexibility to work all scheduled shift hours and respond to urgent site needs when requiredEducation, Certifications, and Licenses:Required: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of prior experience in a facilities, maintenance, or related functional areaPreferred: Trade school or vocational training in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or a related fieldRelevant safety and technical certifications, such as OSHA 10 or 30, CPR, HAZWOPER, or NFPA70EEssential Qualifications:2+ years of facilities, industrial maintenance, or related experienceBasic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or utility systems in an industrial or manufacturing environmentAbility to follow established procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines under close supervisionAbility to use basic hand tools and standard diagnostic equipmentBasic ability to read and interpret diagrams, schematics, and work ordersEffective oral and written communication skills with a willingness to learn and work in a team environmentDemonstrates reliability, flexibility, and strong attention to detailMust have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking EnglishAlignment to Panasonic's seven (7) core principles (contribution to society, fairness and honesty, cooperation and team spirit, untiring effort for improvement, courtesy and humility, adaptability, gratitude)Preferred Qualifications:4+ years of experience in a facilities role within a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive or battery industry preferred)Experience using CMMS systems for maintenance tracking and work order documentationExposure to troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, or utility systemsExperience working around contractors, vendors, or cross-functional teams in an industrial settingPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:To ensure health and safety in the workplace and for employee protection, wearing PPE is required and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
