A leading facilities management organization is hiring a Facilities Manager in Front Royal, Virginia, to oversee maintenance and grounds operations across a prestigious academy campus. The Role

As the Facilities Manager, you'll:

• Lead and develop an on-site team of employees, including Maintenance Technicians, a Landscaping Foreman, and Grounds Staff.
• Oversee day-to-day facilities operations across approximately 11 campus buildings and multiple residential properties totaling 250,000-300,000 square feet.
• Take ownership of preventative maintenance programs, reactive repairs, and overall physical plant operations.
• Remain hands-on with HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and general MEP infrastructure, spending approximately 75% of your time supporting field operations and 25% on management responsibilities.
• Manage landscaping and grounds maintenance across a 135-acre campus.
• Coordinate facility upgrades, renovations, and capital improvement projects.
• Serve as the primary operational contact for senior client stakeholders, including site leadership and the CFO.
• Manage vendors, subcontractors, and service providers to maintain exceptional service standards.
• Assist with budgeting, financial planning, and operational reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, maintenance, and regulatory requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for after-hours emergency response and site escalations.

You

To be successful in the role of Facilities Manager, you'll bring:

• 5+ years of Facilities Management, Physical Plant Operations, Building Maintenance, or Commercial Facilities experience.
• Strong hands-on mechanical and HVAC or MEP, Plumbing expertise with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and support repairs.
• Experience working with MEP systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building infrastructure.
• Previous experience leading maintenance teams in educational, commercial, healthcare, manufacturing, campus, or similarly complex environments.
• A proven track record managing preventative maintenance programs and facility operations.
• Experience overseeing vendors, contractors, and facilities-related projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage confidently with executive stakeholders.
• Experience managing budgets, operating costs, and service contracts.
• Relevant HVAC, MEP, IFMA, APPA, BOMA, BOMI, AFE, or similar industry certifications preferred.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
