In this hands-on position, you will apply your technical skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair essential building systems that support the daily life of our university community. You will work with a wide range of systems, including HVACR, steam, plumbing, electrical, and control systems, while contributing to a safe, reliable, and high-performing facilities environment. Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:Maintain, repair, and install HVACR systems, including air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating equipmentDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair steam and hot water boiler systems, including pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, pressure-reducing stations, air compressors, and water softenersPerform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning systems according to manufacturer guidelinesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical systems up to 600VAC, including panels, breakers, switchgear, motors, lighting systems, and related componentsTroubleshoot and repair building automation and control systems, including sensors, regulators, pneumatic controls, humidity and temperature controls, and valvesInstall and maintain plumbing and piping systems, including cutting, threading, assembling, and fitting gas, water, and sanitation linesPerform pipefitting and insulation work for steam and water distribution systemsFollow all safety procedures, codes, and best practices to ensure a safe work environmentLift and move materials weighing up to 60–90 pounds with or without reasonable accommodationsPerform tasks requiring standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and utilizing various tools. Safely climb and work from different types of ladders to access elevated or below-grade areas (such as roofs, above-ceiling spaces, and utility pits).
