Facilities Maintenance TechnicianThe Facilities Maintenance Technician is charged with the oversight of maintaining a safe, functioning and attractive school.The candidate shall possess characteristics that reflect:A strong clear Christian testimony with a mature and godly spiritA daily example of the highest Christian virtue both in and out of schoolCommitment to faithful attendance and support of a church whose beliefs are in agreement with the Statement of Faith for Christian Academy School SystemAgreement and belief that The Bible is the final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankindThe ideal candidate shall:Have a general maintenance aptitudeHave general knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systemsHave a general working knowledge of heavy equipment such as trucks, tractors and lawn equipmentPrevious experience in commercial cleaning methods, products, and equipmentA strong desire and willingness to learn new trade related tasks and use of new equipmentPrevious experience in landscaping and/or lawn careAccountabilities/Responsibilities:Responds to all work requests submitted in a timely mannerExecutes scheduled cleaning and maintenance activities within agreed timeframesPerforms inspections in accordance with Facility department policiesSafely operate and maintain a wide variety of equipment including wet-vacuums, scrubbers, buffer/polishers, and other motorized/power equipment related to activitiesRepair pipe leaks and valvesRepair drywall, mudding, patching, taping, sanding, and paintingProvide snow removal with backpack blower, or snowplow (truck or tractor)Patch concrete and asphalt as neededSafe use and storage of cleaning chemicals and supplies, mopping, sweeping, and scrubbingSets up events, organizing tables, chairs, desks and other furnishings for routine classroom activities according to plan Set up and take down campus events, both during the school day and eveningsAbility to safely move/lift 50-75 pounds alone, or more when working with othersLogistics - receives shipments and accounts for deliveriesPerform duties inside and outside in inclement weather year-roundWorks inverted, laying, sitting, kneeling, squatting, reaching, crawling, bending, and working with arms overheadSafely works on ladders or lifts as neededDrives a vehicle and is insurableAssists with grounds activities as directedWorks outside during inclement weather to include snow and ice removal, shoveling, spreading de-icer, and operating snow blower for extended hoursAll other duties as assigned by Facilities CoordinatorOutcomes:Continually seek opportunities to create a safer school environmentImplement efficient and effective ways to ensure preventative cleaning and maintenance measuresAdhere to facilities budgets for all services and suppliesCampus remains clean, functioning and safeReporting Relationship:The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible to the Christian Academy Campus Facilities Manager.
