Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company, specializing in the sale and lease of commercial aircraft, engines, and parts as well as aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul services to the aviation industry. This position is located at the Kansas City International Airport Area, in the former TWA Overhaul Base facility. We are looking for a motivated, high-energy team member to join our Materials Operations Team.Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Ensure Jet Midwest facilities and equipment are maintained at a high level of operational readiness and safetyEnsure top-notch support and assistance with maintenance tasksSupport team with daily work assignments, vendor communication, work ticketing system, grooming and progress reporting, preventive maintenance checklist reviews, and related tasksPerform inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on the facility, including but not limited to, ground support equipment, company tooling, safety equipment, and building systemsWork from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair the sameOperate motorized lift equipment such as scissor lift, forklift, etc.Perform and support hot work/welding and fabrication tasksOther duties as assignedProfessional communication, Microsoft Office, rapport building, customer service, time management, project management, and team collaboration are also required.Education and experience:A high-energy personality and desire to learn and grow quicklyExcellent communication skillsEqually comfortable self-directing or working as part of a team to ensure tasks are completedBasic math and measurement skillsWorked with a CMMS/Work ticketing systemsStrong knowledge of safety, OSHA, Hazmat, and Environmental Health HazardsExperience working in an older facilityA High School Diploma or equivalentHave experience performing systems maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial equipmentHave 0-1 years of experience and knowledge of the following:Overhead garage doors maintenanceReading schematics, drawings, hydraulic and wiring diagramsGeneral carpentryWarehouse shelving installation and maintenanceGantry cranes, rigging, and liftingHot work/weldingSteam heating systemsPhysical demands and work environment:While performing the responsibilities of Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will be performing work in a variety of interior and exterior conditions and will be required to wear appropriate safety equipment (may include respirators).
The job will require the ability to frequently bend, reach, left, climb stairs/ladders and/or work high off the ground, stand, or walk for extended periods of time, work in tight/closed-in spaces, grasp tools and parts, and crouch/or crawl.
