The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing maintenance, repair and some janitorial support for all society facilities. You'll perform skilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of facilities, equipment, and furnishings.This role delivers service at the gold standard level in alignment with the SDHS Way, to meet the needs of animals and the people who love them by leading with compassion, finding creative solutions, providing personalized care and building connections.

Janitorial work as needed.

Respond to maintenance emergencies.Inspect building, facilities, and equipment to ascertain needed repairs, make or recommend repairs or alterations as needed.Arrange for service with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other vendor specialties when appropriateWillingly assist the public and other staff in all shelter programs and special events.What we're looking for:Requires High school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of three (3) years of full-time related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience working in a maintenance related capacity required.Experience working with heating, air-conditioning, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or related building trades required.Knowledge and proper use of hand and power tools related to job functions required.Must have a valid driver's license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes.Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus, with expected frequent travel to provide support to all campuses. This position works a 4/10 Alternative Work Schedule.Pay: Starting range is between $24.20 - $26.92 per hour. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience.
