This role is ideal for someone with strong handyman and general maintenance experience who enjoys troubleshooting, working independently, and helping keep operations running smoothly. This position offers long-term stability, skill development, and opportunities for growth within the company.ResponsibilitiesPerform general building and facility maintenance, repairs, and upkeepComplete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical repairsMaintain warehouse, production, and office areas in a safe and organized conditionOperate forklifts and other equipment safely to move materials and support facility needsAssist with equipment setup, shop organization, and preventative maintenance projectsRespond to maintenance requests and troubleshoot facility-related issuesCommunicate professionally and effectively with vendors, contractors, and internal management teamsCoordinate and oversee outside contractors and service providers performing facility-related workMonitor contractor work to help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standardsSupport outside vendors and contractors when neededEnsure compliance with company safety procedures and OSHA standardsDemonstrate a willingness to ask questions, seek guidance, and work collaboratively when unfamiliar issues ariseAssist with special projects and additional duties as assignedQualificationsPrevious handyman, maintenance technician, facilities, warehouse, or mechanical experience preferredForklift experience required; forklift certification preferredAbility to use hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipmentBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systemsStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to communicate clearly and professionally with team members, management, vendors, and contractorsAbility to supervise or coordinate contractors and outside service providers on facility projectsComfortable asking for direction or assistance when needed and open to continued learning and developmentAbility to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environmentReliable attendance and strong work ethicAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWhat We OfferCompetitive pay based on experienceStable full-time opportunityBenefits package including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)Opportunities for advancement and career growth within MECSupportive team environment with hands-on training opportunitiesMEC is an equal opportunity employer and values hardworking individuals who are ready to grow with the company.$18/hr to $22/hr depending on experience
