Facilities Maintenance ManagerThis role leads facilities maintenance operations at a cold storage distribution facility, ensuring that all interior and exterior areas, equipment, and vital systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will oversee preventive maintenance, repairs, and compliance activities, including responsibility for the onsite wastewater treatment plant. In addition, you will supervise a small team of Facility Technicians, driving a culture of safety, cleanliness, quality, and continuous improvement across the operation.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day facilities maintenance activities for a cold storage distribution facility, covering both interior and exterior areas.Plan, schedule, and oversee preventive maintenance (PM) on equipment and building systems to minimize downtime and extend asset life.Diagnose equipment and system failures, determine root causes, and perform or direct timely repairs.Manage maintenance and repair of vital systems, including HVAC, plumbing, pumps, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure.Oversee maintenance of facility grounds, ensuring safe, clean, and well-maintained exterior areas.Manage the operation, maintenance, and performance of the wastewater treatment plant, ensuring full compliance with applicable government regulations and standards.Develop, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities to ensure consistency, safety, and quality.Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring safe work practices, hazard identification, and adherence to safety policies.Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and organization in maintenance work areas and throughout the facility.Provide hands-on leadership and supervision to a small team of Facility Technicians, including assigning work, coaching, and performance oversight.Monitor and manage labor resources effectively, balancing workloads and optimizing maintenance coverage.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and facility performance.Support and participate in internal and external audits by providing documentation, reports, and facility access as needed.Ensure high levels of internal customer service by responding promptly to facility issues and coordinating solutions with other departments.Train Facility Technicians and other relevant staff on maintenance procedures, safety practices, and equipment operation.Track and report key maintenance metrics, such as PM completion rates, downtime, and repair history, and use this data to guide improvements.Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and compliance documentation.Collaborate with leadership to align maintenance strategies with operational goals and support future facility growth and enhancements.Essential Skills5+ years of experience in facility or commercial maintenance.Proven leadership experience in a relevant maintenance or facilities field.Hands-on skills in HVAC systems, including maintenance and troubleshooting.Basic electrical work skills, including safe troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems.Experience with preventive maintenance programs and maintenance management practices.Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues in a commercial or industrial setting.Experience with facilities maintenance management, including planning, prioritizing, and supervising work.Ability to work on feet for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds.Ability to climb ladders and perform tasks at heights in a safe and controlled manner.Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems.Ability to supervise and guide maintenance technicians in daily operations.Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and adherence to standard operating procedures.Strong attention to accuracy, quality, and detail in maintenance work and documentation.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in maintenance management or maintenance supervision in an industrial, warehouse, or cold storage environment.Experience in facilities or building maintenance, including interior and exterior systems.Experience with HVAC management in a commercial or industrial setting.Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician, including repair and troubleshooting of facility equipment.Knowledge of pneumatics and related maintenance practices.Experience with electrical maintenance and maintenance repair in a production or distribution environment.Familiarity with wastewater treatment plant operations and regulatory compliance.Experience working with metrics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives in maintenance operations.Strong customer service orientation when supporting internal stakeholders.Experience supporting or participating in audits related to facilities or maintenance.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers a direct placement into a rapidly growing startup in the booming cold storage industry, providing the chance to shape and influence maintenance operations in state-of-the-art, newly remodeled facilities.
