Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Facilities Engineer role in Fort Mill, SC. This position reports directly to the Plant Facilities Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support and improve chemical handling systems and facility infrastructure.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate chemical and process-related risks.
• Gather and analyze data, blueprints, and technical reports.
• Determine facility and equipment specifications based on operational needs.
• Analyze project costs and assist in preparing and managing budgets.
• Design and oversee facility expansions, layouts, and system implementations.
• Evaluate operational systems and infrastructure to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Develop processing plans and optimize resource allocation.
• Plan and coordinate infrastructure and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Oversee and coordinate contractors performing maintenance and project work.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, building codes, and health and safety standards.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and compliance records.
• Review and optimize preventive maintenance programs within CMMS.
• Manage asset documentation and engineering records.
• Troubleshoot plant utility systems and recommend improvements.
• Develop technical specifications for projects and equipment.
• Assist in developing annual, 5-year, and 10-year infrastructure plans.
• Monitor current processes and recommend continuous improvements.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5-10 years of experience in a Facilities Engineer or similar role.
• Strong background in chemical processes and systems.
• Hands-on experience working with hazardous chemicals and chemical handling systems.
• Experience in industrial environments such as chemical manufacturing, industrial gases, solar manufacturing, or paper/pulp processing.
• Strong knowledge of building systems, construction principles, and applicable codes.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, fire suppression, and high-voltage systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MS Office, and CMMS platforms.
• Proven project management experience from concept through completion.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
