Facilities Data & Asset Management AnalystLocation: Hybrid in Washington, DCNumber of Openings: 3Interview Type: In-PersonDuration: 1-2+ yrsRole DescriptionThe Analyst, Facilities Data & Asset Management, is responsible for developing and coordinating the Department of Facilities Asset Management Plan by analyzing work order and asset performance data to provide input into the overall asset management program with respect to maintenance, capital, and operational decisions.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesMaintains database of Facilities assets collecting, gathering, and compiling data on various assets using DC Water's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) system.Utilize data analytics to evaluate processes, identify requirements, and provide data-driven reports and suggestions to executives and stakeholders.Identify inefficiencies in workflows or systems and propose solutions to optimize business processes.Collaborate with facilities, finance, and operations teams to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.Collaborate with facilities, procurement, and finance teams to support asset planning and capital investment strategies.Prepares financial, operational, maintenance and other technical reports utilizing computerized inventory and asset registry to include calculations of net present value and life cycle costs.Tracks the effectiveness of asset management strategies in improving cost and service level performance.Validates failure criteria based on new input regarding levels of service or budget and validates the shape factor curves for probability of failure.Reviews/revises maintenance strategies and facilitates the validation of existing and/or the development of new asset replacement costs and/or revise replacement costs, as necessary.Participates in determining optimal renewal/rehabilitation/replacement cycles and budgetary requirements based on results from the asset management model output.Facilitates the review of "at risk" assets and identifies which assets require immediate attention for risk reduction, which should be monitored, and which should be run-to-failure.Identifies risk reduction strategies and/or projects.Initiates the approval process for the Facilities asset management plan.Coordinates with staff responsible for asset information and standards management to undertake quality assessment on asset management data and information and determines and coordinates changes to asset technical standards.Coordinates and/or develops asset management research and investigations designed to determine appropriate asset strategies as needed.Performs other related duties and projects as assigned at the discretion of the immediate supervisor.Key Working RelationshipsInteracts with co-workers throughout the department and the Authority and with representatives from other organizations.Skills & QualificationsThe qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability necessary for an individual to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. Reasonable amounts of training are provided.Required Skills & QualificationsA minimum of three (3) years of progressive experience related to asset management operations analysis focusing on operational metrics and Key Performance Indicators or facilities management to include coordinating and managing projectsMinimum Education RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Facilities Management, Engineering, Public Administration, or related Administration/Management field from an accredited four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, consisting of a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate and seven (7) years of progressive experience related to asset management, to include coordinating and managing projects.Required SkillsKnowledge of the principles and leading practices of asset management including risk management, infrastructure life cycle assessment, capital/operational planning, and maintenance managementStrong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI)Experience with CMMS or EAM systems (e.g., Maximo, FM: Systems).Analytical skillsPlanning and organizational skillConflict resolutionAbility to prepare and effectively present technical and complex reports, both orally and in writingUse of a personal computer and associated software programsRequired LanguagesEnglishPhysical RequirementsGeneral office conditionsPreferred Skills & QualificationsPreferred Experience: Experience with MaximoPreferred SkillsKnowledge and skills in facility life-cycle management and facility cost structures (maintenance, operations, capital); treatment plant process equipment operations, maintenance, and performance management; principles and practices of asset management, as described by EPA and the International Infrastructure Management Manual
