Facilities CoordinatorLocated at our large molecule headquarters in RTP, North Carolina, the Facilities Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting daily laboratory and facility operations at our RTP location, ensuring a clean, organized, and well-supplied environment that enables scientific teams to focus on analytical testing. This hands-on position is responsible for maintaining laboratory cleanliness, managing inventory and supplies, coordinating material movement, and assisting with regulated waste handling and facility upkeep. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where operational excellence and compliance are key.Critical Performance AreasDispose of laboratory waste and expired materials in accordance with safety and regulatory guidelines.Assist in moving regulated waste from laboratory areas to the main accumulation area.Receive and log incoming packages and deliveries to the facility.Transport materials and supplies throughout the building as needed.Restock common-use items and ensure timely ordering and replenishment of safety items i.e., gloves, pig mats, walk off mats etc.Maintain accurate records of inventory receipt and lab distributionEnsure timely completion of periodic lab safety checklist items.Perform daily site walk through and verify functional check on all major systems and utilities that are critical to our daily operations.Assist with monitoring the building management system (BMS) as needed, investigate the issue(s), and follow procedures to identify and implement the appropriate solutions.Maintain records for equipment maintenance, repairs, and calibrationMonitor and change out CO2, LN2, and other gases not located in lab space as requiredAttend daily stand-up team meetings and provide clear updates and escalationsEscort facilities vendors to approved areas and address any concerns, if unable to address concerns bring concerns to Facilities managerEssential Job FunctionsAct as the day-to-day custodian for the lab, ensuring removal of trash, cleanliness of shared spaces,Coordinate with lab staff to ensure smooth daily operations and resolve logistical issuesAbility to perform basic carpentry to ensure facility integrity and appearance through hands-on repair and restoration tasksAct as backup for Sample Management team when a team member is not availableSupport department in deviations, investigations, and change controls for facilities related matters.RequirementsHigh School Diploma with a minimum 3 years related experience; or Associates degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with 2 years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field with no experience.Working knowledge of building management systems.Strong organizational and time management skills.Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.Familiarity with laboratory safety practices and regulated waste handling.Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, inventory systems).Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Willingness to wear PPE and work in cleanroom or controlled environments.Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.Other Desired Skills/AbilitiesExperience in a startup a plusCRO and GMP experience preferred.Bioworks and safety certifications preferredExperience with HVAC and VRF systems preferredExperience with LIMS Labware 8 or other similar systems preferred.Disclaimer: Solvias North America does not currently offer relocation packages or sponsor work visas.
