JMT is currently ranked #45 on Engineering News-Record's list of the Top 500 Design Firms.Position summary: Project team member responsible for assisting with: (1) providing construction project oversite using knowledge of general engineering and construction principles and practices to interpret, organize, coordinate, communicate and execute assignments with limited supervision, (2) ensuring work is performed and completed in accordance to the contract documents, and (3) providing support to other team members, and (4) other tasks as may be assigned by the Project Manager/Supervisor.Immigration sponsorship or support (e.g. H1B, F-1 CPT/OPT/STEM OPT) is not available for this position, except for qualified candidates eligible for the TN visa classification.Compensation for this position is $39.00-$4.00/hour, commensurate with experience, education and certifications. The provided range is a good faith estimate based on the requirements described within the job description. If so, the actual salary range may vary from the estimate provided.Essential functions and responsibilitiesAssist with planning, scheduling and coordinating work throughout the various phases of the project. May be responsible for a portion of a large project or the entirety of a small to medium size project.Read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, testing and inspection reports, maps, aerial photography, topographical surveys and etc.Monitor project progress to ensure work is being provided in accordance with contract plans and specifications.Prepare reports and logs such as inspector daily reports, cost to date, estimated cost to complete, submittals, RFI's, etc.Assist with performing quantity surveys and take-offs from contract documents and actual work-in-placeAssist with preparing construction cost budgets and estimatesAssist in the preparation of engineering documents for advertisement and bidding activitiesPrepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimatesManage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplinesDevelop extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposalsPrepare proposals as requiredAttend various meetings, record and distribute meeting minutesCommunicate and coordinate with team members to ensure project completion by the defined milestones and established quality guidelinesNonessential functions and responsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsProficient written and verbal communication skillsGood organizational and time management skillsGood attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepanciesStrong work ethic. Willing to do what it takes to get the job doneAbility to work independently as well as part of a teamAbility to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environmentRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, architectural or a related field from an accredited engineering, construction management or architectural program0 to 5 years' experience in a construction related discipline. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Preferred ExperienceKnowledgeable with CPM scheduling.

Experienced with Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project is a plusKnowledgeable in construction testing and inspection requirementsWorking ConditionsWork is performed in both an office and field (construction) environment. Office to field time is approximately 22% to 75% respectively. Field work requires climbing, walking and standing at a construction site and may be outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
