This hands-on leadership position is responsible for ensuring our buildings, grounds, and equipment are safe, functional, and well maintained to support a positive environment for students, staff, and visitors.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications preferredBroad knowledge of building maintenance trades: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and mechanical systemsPrevious experience in custodial, maintenance, or facilities management preferredValid driver's licenseKey ResponsibilitiesFacilities Maintenance & OperationsOversee day-to-day operations of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipmentDevelop and manage a preventative maintenance programPerform general repairs such as equipment, carpentry, roofing, insulation, and masonryMonitor and maintain interior and exterior building conditions, including cleanliness and structural integrity Conduct regular facility inspections and respond promptly to maintenance requestsOversee interior/exterior building work for contracted servicesGrounds & Equipment ManagementManage groundskeeping, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep contractsOperate and maintain facility-related machinery and toolsCoordinate materials handling, supply movement, and event setups as neededSafety & ComplianceEnsure all facilities meet federal, state, and local safety codes and regulationsImplement and enforce OSHA/PERRP safety standards and best practicesMaintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, and repairsAdministrative DutiesRecommend and manage inventory of supplies, equipment, and toolsOversee work of vendors and contractors performing facility-related servicesMaintain up-to-date documentation and complete required reports and logsConduct annual inventory of maintenance supplies and equipmentKey Skills & AbilitiesStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to read and understand safety labels, maintenance instructions, and technical documentationEffective communication skills—both verbal and writtenAbility to operate and maintain power-driven equipment and machineryPhysically capable of performing a variety of maintenance tasksAbility to work independently and lead by exampleTraining in chemical safety and hazard communication preferredAbility to distinguish color-coded wiring for electrical work
